Stonegrove Serenade – Music for the Community

EHRS is delighted to present Stonegrove Serenade, a series of lunchtime concerts at EHRS. On every third Tuesday of the month, please join us for music featuring up and coming classical musicians.

We welcome flautist Ka Wing Karen Wong and pianist Lance Mok.

Hong Kong-born flautist Ka Wing Karen Wong is a devoted chamber and orchestral player. After gaining her master’s in Orchestral Artistry (Distinction) at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she is pursuing her Artist Diploma, studying flute and piccolo with Philippa Davies, Sarah Newbold, Ian Clarke and Christopher Green. She has recently worked with Chipping Campden Festival Academy Orchestra, Orion Orchestra and Guildhall Symphony Orchestra. In 2022, Karen won 1st Prize in the British Flute Society Young Artist Competition and 2nd Prize in Tampere Flute Fest Piccolo Competition. She has given solo performances in Hong Kong, London, New York and Berlin. In recognition of her academic and music achievements, she attained Guildhall School Concert Recital Diploma for exceptional performance and is an Ian Fleming Award holder.

Lance Mok is a pianist and composer raised in Hong Kong and based in London. He is noted for his interest and mastery of a wide repertoire of diverse styles and advocacy of contemporary music as well as hidden gems in the traditional repertoire. His performance career has brought him around the world from the UK and continental Europe to Asia and the States. His performances have been broadcast by Radio Television Hong Kong and Television Broadcasts Ltd. Lance obtained his master’s degree from the Royal College of Music in 2018.

We invite you to enjoy refreshments in our pop up cafe before the concert. ‘Cafe 118’ will be open 12:00, last orders at 12:45. The café will re-open after the concert with a summer special of homemade scones with cream and jam, and a chat. Please note when booking if you will be using the café.
