Stonegrove Serenade – Music for the Community

EHRS is delighted to present Stonegrove Serenade, a series of concerts at EHRS. Every month, please join us for music featuring up and coming classical musicians.

Audiences and musicians alike have praised Stonegrove Serenade’s fantastic acoustics, intimate concert setting and warm welcome and attendees have been bowled over with the standard of talent the series has attracted. Café 118 has delighted customers with its fresh and tasty homemade food. Some of the comments we have received is that its ‘an oasis of calm’ and ‘it doesn’t matter if you’re on your own, there is always someone friendly to sit with’.

We will enjoy a cello duet from Theá- Rose Lester Mumford and Erlend Vestby.
Théa-Rose Lester Mumford and Erlend Vestby are graduates of the University of Exeter and the Royal College of Music and now lead a busy freelance life as performing cellists. Between them they have performed with Piccadilly Sinfonietta, British Sinfonietta, Westminster Opera Company, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Sutton Philharmonic, Brandenburg Sinfonia and Baroque Soloists, Gabrieli, Per Piacere Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Nova, the Pelham Band, Florilegium, Romsey Abbey Sinfonietta and Southbank Sinfonia to name but a few. They are both keen teachers and lead active private cello classes in Winchester, the New Forest and London. Théa-Rose has a particular love for the romantic sonatas and is looking forward to further solo recitals exploring this genre. She has won multiple awards and competitions for her playing, most recently the Music at Beaulieu Senior Awards. Erlend is active in historical performance and also plays baroque cello as well as exploring early 20th century performance style. Besides his performing career he spends his time composing and arranging music, and all arrangements in today’s concert are his own. The Duettists is Théa-Rose and Erlend’s lately formed cello duo which they are excited to be bringing out into the public sphere.

We invite you to enjoy a light supper in our pop up cafe before the concert. ‘Cafe 118’ will be open 18:00. The café will re-open after the concert with drinks, cake and a chat. Please note when booking if you will be using the café.

All are welcome. Admission is free, suggested donation £5.
