Stonegrove Serenade – Music for the Community
EHRS is delighted to present Stonegrove Serenade, a series of concerts at EHRS. Every month, please join us for music featuring up and coming classical musicians.
Audiences and musicians alike have praised Stonegrove Serenade’s fantastic acoustics, intimate concert setting and warm welcome and attendees have been bowled over with the standard of talent the series has attracted. Café 118 has delighted customers with its fresh and tasty homemade food. Some of the comments we have received is that its ‘an oasis of calm’ and ‘it doesn’t matter if you’re on your own, there is always someone friendly to sit with’.
Tuesday 15 April, 13:00 – We welcome The New Eden Consort who will perform a programme featuring a beautiful selection of choral works, including pieces by Finzi, Tomkins, Morley, Whitacre, and more, alongside timeless folk songs and arrangements.
The New Eden Consort is a four-part vocal ensemble, based in Greenwich, London. Its members – Grace, Niamh, Charlie and Dom – are all either current vocal studies students or alumni at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
The group originates in the conservatoire’s chapel choir at the Old Royal Naval College. Their collective experience in choral singing enables them to perform with balance, nuance, and close-knit ensemble as a quartet.
The New Eden Consort performs a range of sacred and secular music, and explores works from as early as the Renaissance period to contemporary music by living composers – and everything in between. A recent highlight has been progressing to the Final of the Carne Trust Chamber Music Competition at Trinity Laban.
Alongside their live performances, the group hope to reach a wider audience through their social media presence, with the aim to make classical music more accessible.
