Rosh Chodesh Iyar

20:00-21:30

On the first day of a Hebrew month, a sliver of the new moon is visible in the sky. Rosh Chodesh (‘head of the month’) is the traditional Jewish holiday on this day.

Join us on Zoom for music, contemplation, chat and creativity to mark each new month.

The month of Iyar is the ‘in between’ month, sandwiched between Pesach and Shavuot, some even liken it to the twilight (the moment of ‘in betweenness’).

In honour of this month of ‘in between’ we will be looking at what it means to us to be on this journey from one place to another, and to be both looking backwards and forwards at the same time, longing for what is to come and remembering what has been. It is also a time of growth and growing in nature and in us.

It will be led by Rabbi Sandra.
