Rosh Chodesh

On the first day of a Hebrew month, a sliver of the new moon is visible in the sky. Rosh Chodesh (‘head of the month’) is the traditional Jewish holiday on this day.

For September, the month of Elul is the month of purification, cleansing and soul-searching. It is an important month to prepare ourselves for the transformative experiences of Tishri. We will spend some time reflecting individually and as a group on our lives, the year and the changes we would like to bring into our lives in the new year. We will spend some time on a few rituals, which will help us to reflect, cleanse and release some of much needed energy to finish the year on high.
