Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue welcome you join our Young Families Community. Our Young Families programme runs events, groups and support for you and your little ones. Get involved to give your little munchkins a taste of our wonderfully welcoming and fun family events, a fantastic opportunity to meet other young Jewish Families. We work closely with our Education Director, Youth Workers, Nagila nursery and of course our Clergy team to make every meeting special for the whole family.

Chumash Babies

Saturday 7th December

A special Shabbat experience for our very youngest children, their parents, siblings and grandparents. It brings together baby sensory play and Jewish ways of experiencing the wonder of Shabbat for a delightful half hour. See, hear, feel, taste and smell Shabbat with your baby! Perfect for babies and toddlers up to the age of 3 and their older siblings!

Followed by a Kiddush and a Shabbat brunch to help us all get to know each other.

Sing & Sensory

Thursdays, 11:00-11:45 (term time only)

A music & sensory class for babies – 1 year olds, followed by chill out time in our brand new state of the art Senitt Sensory Room! Join us each week as we have fun exploring different themes such as; transport, the weather, space, animals, Jewish festivals and more!

Free to EHRS Members, £6 per session for non members

Shabbat Stay & Play

Friday Mornings, 10:30 - 11:45 (term time only)

Join us for a morning of fun and creativity at our Shabbat Stay & Play, for babies and toddlers. There will be singing, toys, a lovely Kiddush and refreshments. We welcome parents, carers and grandparents. This will run weekly. Booking required. Attending sessions can be counted towards Jewish school application CRP collection.

Free to EHRS Members, Non Members £5 per child, £1 extra per sibling.

Shabbat Club

Saturday mornings, 11:15 (monthly)

A monthly Shabbat experience for up to 11 year olds to enjoy Parasha and Shabbat themed activities, stories and songs. Under 5 year olds must be accompanied by an adult. Finishing in time to join the community for Kiddush around 12:15.

Kuddle Up Shabbat

Fridays, 16:15-16:45 (monthly)

Our special interactive Shabbat service for Primary aged children and their siblings. Songs and a joyful start to Shabbat, with a lovely Kiddush. Selection of toys for the children and hot drinks available for the adults. Early arrival is optional from 15.45. Come straight from school pick up, or just arrive early to play before the service. You can collect CRP points from attending.

Torah Time!

A brand new children's service

Torah Time, 10:45-11:15

Join us for this interactive storytelling experience with music and activities. Followed by a mini Kiddush and schmooze. This service is ideal for ages 4-10.

Occurs on the 1st Shabbat of the month.

Build a Bible!

A brand new children's service

Build a Bible, 10:45-11:15

Get creative with all different types of construction to explore the week’s Torah portion. Followed by a mini Kiddush and schmooze. This service is ideal for ages 4-10.

Occurs on the 3rd Shabbat of the month.

SEND Parents Support Group

A support group for parents/carers of children with additional needs

For parents/carers of children with additional support needs and/or disabilities that affect life at home and/or in school. A safe space where you can meet other parents in the community, share experiences, talk about challenges and strategies, and support each other.

This group occurs monthly and is facilitated by Miriam Saffer, a consultant in inclusion and special educational needs with more than 10 years’ experience in education and inclusion across primary, secondary and further education settings.

Our state of the art Sensory Room is available to hire
