Mitzvah Day
Mitzvah Day is the UK’s largest faith-led day of social action.
On Mitzvah Day over 40,000 people in 35 countries around the world, come together to make a difference.
Mitzvah Day allows everyone of all ages, backgrounds and faiths to get involved in hands-on social action projects and is guided by the Jewish values of Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World), Gemilut Chasadim (Acts ofKindness) and Tzedek (Justice).
Here, at EHRS, we have a proud tradition of creating meaningful and impactful Mitzvah Day events, bringing together people of all faiths and backgrounds, to volunteer side-by-side, and building longstanding, genuine relationships with the charities we support and our neighbouring faith communities.
Get involved in Mitzvah Day 2024
With four great projects to support, it’s easy to find the perfect Mitzvah to perform!
Support Vulnerable Families
This year we will be collecting Nappies to support the valuable work of Sebby’s Corner. Based in Barnet, EN5, they support children and their families across London, Herts and the South East. Please bring in your donations and help to relieve the misery of poverty.
Interfaith Cook-a-long
Sign up to be part of a unique “Cook-a-long” led by Rabbi Debbie. This special in person interfaith event will include our friends from the Hindu Temple in Neasden, alongside members of other local faith communities. Together we will be cooking sweet treats for our drop in shelter and for our care team to distribute to members in need over the winter months.
Booking essential and spaces are limited, so click here to secure your spot.
Join the Eco and Interfaith Teams for a park clean up
This year’s Mitzvah Day project is all about embracing the little creatures that keep our world buzzing (literally) and making
Box Tree Park a haven for bugs, birds, and humans alike!
