RETURNS SUNDAY 13 JANUARY 2019
Throughout the year there are opportunities for school years 4-10 to join us for one off trips and full weekends away. Trips have included Dino golf, Quasar, Mega Jump, Roller Skating, Ice Skating and Bowling - and even an International trip post B’nei Mitzvah. Weekends away are always huge and there is nothing like the ruach of 40 young people having an amazing time taking part in activities they wouldn't normally do.
Weekends away and trips often happen along with other Reform synagogue youth clubs.
We run a 2 year Hadracha course, training young people in School Years 9+ to work within EHRS clubs, play schemes and religion school.
The course covers various aspects of youth work and leadership and not only develops knowledge of youth work and practice but allows individuals to build life skills including confidence, communication, planning and presentation.
The course now also includes an invitation to our annual subsidised International Trip, to places such as Amsterdam, Spain & Prague!
Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue Youth Centre offers young people the opportunity to express themselves and have fun in a safe Jewish environment.
EHRS Youth Centre is run by our Youth Workers who along with a highly dedicated and trained team of volunteers, bring activities for everyone no matter their age.
Kaytana & Kadima Summer Scheme
Our highly popular 3 week summer scheme, which runs Monday - Friday, for 5-14 year olds. Each day includes fully planned activities that are always new and exciting. Each week also includes specialist workshops, trips to the local park and exciting day trips.
Pesach Play Scheme
Our four day scheme running during or around Pesach. It is a great way of introducing your child to activities at EHRS. Fun filled days and our enthusiastic staff always make this an opportunity not to be missed.
Pesach Play Scheme 2019, 4 fun packed days for those aged 5-7, 8-10 and 11-14.
Monday 15 - Thursday 18 April, 9:15 - 16:00
EHRS Youth Centre offers children the opportunity to express themselves and have fun in a safe and structured Reform Jewish environment. Friendships started at EHRS last a life time. The experience we have together builds friendships based on shared experiences, respect, honesty and caring. Our activities will provide your children with a high quality experience that will enhance their development, learning and spiritual wellbeing, as well as encouraging them to be an individual and feel part of something bigger (the EHRS and Jewish Community).
Reform Judaism and EHRS are partnering to bring parents/carers and young people together to talk about emotional wellbeing.
There will be fun interactive sessions for young people from year 10 up, and a panel for parents. Our speakers will be:
Michael Benjamin, father of Jonny Benjamin, MBE, a mental health campaigner and author of Stranger on the Bridge, as well as a member of EHRS
Juliet Landau-Pope (JLP Coach), a professional organiser and study skills consultant, coaching teens to develop organising, time management and exam revision strategies. She is the author of two books: Being More Productive (2017) and Clearing Your Clutter (2018).
Rabbi Daniel Lichman is the Chaplain for Progressive Jewish Students. He has a passion for engaging with Jewish texts and using them to develop life skills and spiritual practices that can help us navigate our modern world.
We will also be joined by Ronit Gerber, an experienced educator, motivational speaker, coach, therapist and businesswoman. Ronit has developed a psychoeducational framework called The SMILE System™, a simple yet powerful process for nurturing and growing emotional resilience, inspiring people to make the most of their challenges and their lives.
